Located in Huangpu district, Shanghai Zhongfu city housing development consists of six multi-family high rises residence units (17 up to 30 storeys). The first floor is for business, the second and third floor is used for shopping center and rest apartment is for residence. The steel beam for residence is light H frame steel welded by high frequency technique. The steel structure material for the building is fire resistance weathering steel.

Structure system:

The structure form was steel frame and concrete shear force wall system. Reinforced concrete force wall was used for the wall body of elevator and stairs. As the main side force resistance system, the vertical load was assigned by steel frame part.

The distance between the columns was 7.8 meters, which mean that the column net consisted of two open spaces and ensure that there is no column in each room. The internal wall body was fill wall so that it can be separated freely according to different need. The steel structure was used from the basement so the building period was shortened greatly and the advantages of steel structure was shown.

The steel beam and steel column was connected by hinge. Only the abdomen plate on the steel beam was connected by high strength bolt. The top and bottom vane is not needed to be welded, so the processing procedure is simple.

The steel column form was steel-concrete structure with the size of 350×6x10 for the residential part and 400×10 steel tube for the shopping part and 500×10 for the basement part. The internal and external walls are form of frame fill with the thickness only 150x200 mm so the waste area was decreased greatly and the effective living area is increased by about five percent.

For the residential part, the steel beams are the light H profiled bar steel welded by high frequency.

The floor is the pressed mixed concrete- steel with the thickness of 110 millimeters.

The external wall is concrete structure with the thickness of 200mm, width 600mm and length 600mm.
